Video games are not just for kids you know. As an adult I value having a good time. It is difficult to go places especially here in Baton Rouge and find a place that you can eat, drink, and play some fun games. My recent adventure at Barcadia near the north gates of LSU showed me that BR is starting to provide the "adult children" with what they need. We (wife and I) just finished up some go karting and needed food and drink. We looked online and saw that Barcadia seemed to have some really delicious looking food. The menu is full of what seem like mouth watering delights. It will be fun to go back and try something new. For now, we ordered the fully loaded cheese fries and a nice juicy burger with a fried egg on it. The loaded cheese fries were a huge portion and the price was not ok bad for the amount of food you get. The burger was a nice sized burger, cooked the way I asked for it. Some places can't even get that correct. The burger was very tasty and again it was a little more than I expected for just a burger, egg, and cheese so next time I will choose something different. The entertainment is the other draw. Lots of old nostalgic video games as well as some nice hands on "huge" checkers and near human sized Jenga. Pinball games, air hockey, Skee ball, lots of fun choices to be competitive with your loved one. Some people say the service here is terrible, but our server was fun and enthusiastic and was very accommodating to our food and drink needs. So, good service, good food, and good fun will always get our repeat business.

I love the Barcadia in New Orleans and was excited when the Baton Rouge location opened. We went on a Friday during the summer and ordered lots of apps. Fried cheese curds, OMG Shrimp, and the Sloppy'd Frites. Everything was so so delicious, we didn't even save room for entrees. Our server Adrian was so so attentive. When we wandered from the table to play games he always noticed and even placed napkins over our drinks to avoid bugs from the patio in them. Such service! We waited a little bit for him to get to our table after we were first seated, but boy did he make up for it. So apologetic and on point for the rest of the evening. Thanks, Adrian!

The food here is usually awesome. However, if you order near the time that they stop serving food, be prepared to get a big middle finger from the kitchen staff. The service on the other hand... is also terrible. Every time I'm come here I've been disappointed. Whether it's lack of attention or lack of competence, the service (or management?) is definitely the biggest downfall of this establishment.

Let's start with the food here. For a bar and arcade in Baton Rouge, I was floored by the quality of food and creative menu that Barcadia has to offer. I love the fried pb and j. The fact that it comes with a carton of milk is playful and nostalgic. Its also delicious. The pork nachos are plentiful and the toppings are balanced and tasty. The Ham and Brie sandwich is fantastic as well. I can't say enough about how impressed I am with the menu. Now, DO NOT ORDER THE CHICKEN PARM. The sauce is sweet like candy and the chicken is breaded with flour that is over seasoned. The soups I've had were mediocre. They have great weekly specials that make up for those things. I love that it's an arcade, "filled" with video games from my childhood and adolescence. There is a giant Jenga game and a couple connect 4 games as well. The service. I'm embarrassed for them in this department. Just because she is cute, doesn't mean she should work with people. But if you must hire her for her looks, be prepared to train her. There is obviously no real training here (for waitstaff, the times I've sat at the bar were great,) so you deal with an ill prepared, non-multitasking, flighty, ditsy server who has zero Knowledge of the menu nor can she handle more than one table at a time, regardless of the fact that most people are only having one coarse. I've been told that it may be too busy, I should just leave. But, it IS a Step up from brightside. I do find that the service in Baton Rouge is pretty terrible. I'm not sure if the broke students not tipping fosters that behavior or if it's just generally accepted... Something to ponder for sure.

If really like to give this place a perfect review, because the food was well worth 5 stars. However, the service was horrible and I can't honestly say that I had a perfect overall experience. Let's start with the positives, the food was quick and delish! And they also had awesome music and games. I had the prime rib sandwich with the parm truffle fries. I wanted more even though the serving size was huge! I could have drank the au jus from the cup it was so well seasoned. My husband had the bbq shrimp po-boy. I don't know how it tasted because it was gone in 30 seconds. He said it was awesome and wanted another. They played the best music while we were there so it made it quite fun. It was by birthday so we wanted to play games and hang out. The games were awesome but we didn't have much change so we didn't play long. Our server come over and got drink orders. We told her we were new and first timers there so we needed time. She came back within 30 seconds and basically rushed us into an order. Before I could finish my beer she was leaving the check on the table. I really wanted dessert. I mean.... It was my birthday and all. No worries we paid the check and went somewhere else for dessert. I'll be back, just not for that server!

Took my family for dinner. Did not even get to try any of the food. The place was not even at full capacity. Staff was lame and uninterested. Sat outside music was blurring so LOUD I could not even have a convention with myself. Second time and will not be coming back. You can't have a smoke free environment when you have rolled up garage door open to the outside and every HIPSTER in town is seating right outside on the sidewalk smoking. Very disappointed. Would probably never go back.

I've been here twice and received excellent fast, friendly service and great food! I love the rock music, its from my generation (80s/90s). I ordered stuff with the Pacman symbol, which means there specialties. The appetizer cheese curds is yummy! Imagine a fluffy cheese puff with freshly grated cheese and a dash of sliced green onions. (it reminds me of funnel cake at the fair, zero sweetness) You get to choose from spicy marinara or ranch, and since I love both, they gave me both! The marinara was on the sweet side, and a touch of heat only. The ranch tasted home-made, you can definitely tell the dill was fresh! I tried the grilled cheese and tomato soup. A very fancy grown-up version to say the least! If you're old-fashioned and like it the way Mama made it, then opt out. This grilled cheese is for adults only! Not much of a selection of Belgian beir, so be warned! Given its a college town/bar area, there are great local beers on drafts.

Five stars because this place is awesome. A little packed on the weekends but they just opened and Baton Rouge doesn't have many options. The food smells good but I didn't try it. They don't have drink specials yet but they're working on that. Lots of games including air hockey, pinball, old school arcade games including ninja turtles, tekken, street fighter, Simpsons pinball, duck hunt, etc. TV's with sports on too! Life sized Jenga and Connect Four! A couple of bars inside, if it's packed try the back bar. Great place and everyone was friendly. 2nd time visiting- the service was great and food was awesome. I was bummed because my $12 salad was much smaller than everyone else's much cheaper food. The burgers, nachos, and wraps were HUGE. And I got a pretty small salad. It was pretty good though :/ salads aren't very filling as an entree so to get a small one was a bummer.

I enjoy Barcadia, there is something to do for everyone. Food, games, drinks.. Just a nice place to come and hang out with friends. I had the classic burger and aside from it dripping a lot, it was an enjoyable burger. The service is good and quick.

Yum! I have been looking forward to visiting since they opened. Everything we ordered was delicious and service was great. Their Monday burger special ( curbside classic, fries and a drink) is one of the best deals in town! My burger was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. We also ordered the cheese curds, which were good with an enjoyable marinara. However if you have low tolerance for salt, the curds definitely have their share. I was impressed and look forward to my next visit!

Place was recommended by a friend and LSU Alum. When you first walk in, it's a blast into the '80's with the arcade games in the entrance. Loved it immediately. We were waited on as soon as we walked in the door at 430pm on a Saturday...it is summer so no college kids, really empty. Got seated and drinks were ordered and brought out fast. Tea was very flavorful, not watered down or to sweet...it was almost perfect. Looked over the menu for a few minutes...burgers, sandwiches and salads...my wife and son ordered classic burgers and I opted for the KGB (classic burger with pralined bacon and a fried egg) and it was on point! The fries are string fries and were fresh with good sized portion. We got refills on drinks and waitress came by asking how the meal was. Very good service, thank you Olivia. Being right outside the gates of a major university I could understand the attire and as a man...no issues...lol...as a father, my 9 year old didn't need to see "cheeks" hanging out a waitresses shorts. Was it horrible and unbearable, no. Thank you to my friend for the spot and thank you to Barcadia for the food on our first night of vacation. Check it out if you want a great burger and want to play some games!

The best burger in Baton Rouge and it isn't close. Unfortunately, the music is so loud that it isn't a great place to sit down with a group of people unless you enjoy yelling across a table. While the wait staff was very patient and helpful, for the second consecutive time going to Barcadia, I have experienced TERRIBLE service from the bar. The bartenders were extremely rude and seemed to be hanging out more than they were working. Several times that i was waiting for a drink or service, the bartenders would be talking with their visiting friends with a ton of people elbow to elbow with cash in hand. After waiting 15 minutes with an empty beer, i quickly closed my tab. When i got home, I was extremely upset to find that several additional drinks were charged to my credit card. I generally only reference Yelp for new spots and dishes and never write reviews or critique, but this place has consistently disappointed me. In the future, i'll order my burgers take-out, if at all.

First let me say that I am giving this place 3 stars due to pricing on a college campus. Burgers and fries for $13, is a tad bit high. The consensus of the group is that we aren't going back until they incorporate a lunch menu with better pricing. Reason being, we can get a burger and fries for under their pricing amount across the street or even next door. They may want to think about this if they want to keep lunch business. Second, the food was superb and I thoroughly enjoyed my hamburger. I ordered the surf and turf, which was a great hamburger with shrimp with some kind of BBQ sauce. Take my word for it, it was VERY good. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was very attentive. Please work on a lunch menu because the LSU/Downtown/State employees will look elsewhere.

My partner and I could not wait until Barcadia opened given the fact that we loved Curbside's burgers. However, now that we've been we will not be going back unless it's on someone else's dime. We went on an afternoon, so they were not crowded in the least bit. However, our service was super slow. We ordered cheese curds and two burgers. The cheese curds were great and we loved dipping sauces. Our burgers were okay and did not have the same great taste of the renowned curbside burger. Needless to say, we were pretty disappointed, especially since the burgers cost so much. All in all, Barcadia has a cool concept with decent food, but they are overpriced with mediocre service. Basically, if you want a good burger in Baton Rouge, go to burgersmith or Mooyahs.

The burgers are ok but the service has always been very slow to the point that I have to go to the hostess to ask where are where our waitresses is. But my biggest complaint that makes me not want to go back is the picnic tables that you sit at our incredibly low and uncomfortable. I'm 6 foot and don't consider myself incredibly tall but my knees sit higher than my waist and then I have the slump over to even reach the table. The painted tables are perfect for girls who are short but any decent size man has always been uncomfortable in any group that I've been with. Being comfortable while I eat is important so I don't understand why these benches are still there.

I read reviews before I try new venues to get an idea of what other people think about the overall experience. I understand that you can't please all the people, all the way, all the time. Everyone has their own expectations and sometimes, for whatever the reason, it's just a bad day. I don't judge, I experience. Our experience in Barcadia was terrific. From our entrance to our exit we were appreciated as customers by staff and management alike. The shrimp, the green chile burger, the chicken sandwich with jalapeño slaw, the fries, and the fried pb&j were all well prepared and delicious. The service we received from Adrian was awesome. He is a real 'people person'. Ask for him if you want the same experience we had. We will definitely return to try other menu items.

Cool concept. Super slow service. Took forever for beers for a table 9. 4 adults. Second round was just as long. Burgers were pretty tasty, but no one ever checked on our food and one of the burgers completely fell apart. My grilled cheese never came out and finally did, was totally just okay. How hard is it to pour beer? Get it together people.

My friends and I waited a few weeks to visit Barcadia, giving it some type for the hype to die down and the kinks to be worked out. We got a few appetizers to share - the cheese curds, spinach artichoke dip, and Parmesan truffle fries - all of which were delicious if not a bit over priced. We were excited to start playing some games after we had eaten but were disappointed to find that quite a few of them were out of order and some were eating our quarters. This place just opened! How do you already have broken machines?! We did, however, have no problems getting our quarters replaced and discovered you could play with unlimited lives on the Ninja Turtles game. So that helped to smooth over any frustrations. Also, despite visiting Barcadia around two weeks ago, my bill for that night did not get run until just this morning. Given that the main clientele here are going to be college students spending their tight, paycheck-to-paycheck incomes, it's probably a best practice to not wait half a month to run your tickets.

The positive notes first, my burger (Brian 2.0) was awesome, and they were all served hot . Other than that, there were way too many negatives, and unfortunately we will NOT be back. Music was extremely loud, poor service, other items on menu were just NoT Good. Decor was awful, and I can not believe they just re-did this restaurant, it makes me miss Serrano's. Shaking my head as we left, it's an unfortunate sight.

Overall underwhelmed. Went to eat for lunch and thought the prices were high for bar quality food. I have had a much better lunch for a much better price at the bulldog. Our appetizer of pork nachos were served with stale chips. My burger was over salted and soggy. The atmosphere is great, as is the location, but I think it has some kinks to iron out.

The food is good but the service is horrible! We've been here multiple times and each time the service has been unacceptable. It should not take 2 plus hours to order a burger, fries, a beer, and pay for your order. There are better options within the immediate vicinity.

I was very excited to take my husband from Wisconsin here for the fried cheese curds. They arrived at our table and they were in reality fried mozzarella balls. They were tasty, but not what we were looking for. The fries taste like they were fried in a very heavy animal fat. The burgers were okay, but not out of this world. We didn't finish our meals because the food was just so heavy.

Cool atmosphere, although loud, it's a unique take on the food and games type of establishment. Classic arcade games and really good food make it a great experience. The prime rib French dip is amazing!
